My name is Margaret Popp Tschaenn. I am beginning my 4th year as the Classroom Assistant for 2nd grade. Prior to becoming a permanent staff member, I filled in as a substitute for 3 years working in various classrooms as well as the cafeteria. My typical day is spent helping in both 2nd grade classrooms then supervising lunch and recess. In the afternoon, I enjoy being with our middle schoolers during their lunch/free time as well as tutoring 2nd and 3rd graders who need a little extra help.
I am a life-long parish member of St. John Paul II and am involved in many parish activities including the Turkey Shoot/Fall Festival Committee, New Car Raffle Committee, Ladies’ Club, and Youth Ministry.
I attended elementary school at St. Joe Hill where I received all my sacraments. I graduated from Providence High School and Indiana University Southeast with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. I worked in the banking industry for 16 years, most recently with J P Morgan Chase, before becoming a full-time mom which is definitely the most challenging career I could ever imagine !
I’ve been married to my husband Kevin for 16 years. We have 2 children, Brent and Carly. Brent is a 2022 JPII graduate and now a Freshman at Providence. Carly is a 6th grader at JPII. The saying “the days are long but the years are short” is so true ! We are so proud that they are receiving a Catholic education.
I enjoy spending time with my family and extended family, movies, sports, cooking, and the Indiana Hoosiers.
I am so fortunate to be a staff member at JPII and am thankful for the opportunity to spend time with all our students. Go Knights !!
