Hi! My name is Jennifer Dunn. It is a pleasure being able to serve the St. John Paul II Catholic School community as a learning support teacher. This is my nineteenth year of teaching and my seventh year of teaching at St. John Paul II. My years of experience have crossed both secondary and elementary. I have worked in public as well as private schools and multiple learning settings. My degrees from the University of Southern Indiana are in Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Treatment. My degree from Indiana University Southeast is in special education. I also carry a degree from the University of Louisville in Urban and Public Affairs Administration. My years have given me experience in supporting students both within their classrooms and in small group settings. I love the challenge of finding each student's unique learning style and building upon it to make them confident and successful.
This is also my seventh year teaching for Indiana University Southeast. I teach Functional Curriculum, Introduction to Autism, Reading Foundations for Disability, and I supervise the practicum and student teacher placements. Working with students who want to become teachers has allowed me many opportunities for growth.
My husband David And I have been married for 20 years and we live in Henryville, Indiana. David is an active member of the southern Indiana community through his work at WesBanco, various community boards, and coaching here at JPII. We have been members of St. John Paul II Catholic Church for 13 years, since returning to the southern Indiana area. We have been blessed with three very active children. Our oldest Ruby (14) is a 9th grader at Jeffersonville High School this year and is very involved in USSA swimming through PaceSetters swim club. She is a part of the youth group and an excellent role model for her younger siblings. Addison (10), is a 5th grader at JPII this year. She is involved in volleyball, soccer, golf, and swimming. She loves her pets and takes excellent care of them. Our youngest is Brody (8). Brody is a 3rd grader at JPII this year. He plays tennis, golf, soccer, and football. In my spare time I enjoy walking, watching sports, and working in my flowers. I am thankful for this opportunity to give back to our parish and look forward to an exciting year as we begin a historic period in education!
