Hello, my name is Amanda Sumpter. I teach middle school religion and sixth grade math here at St. John Paul II Catholic School. This will be my fourteenth year teaching at St. John Paul II and I am thrilled to again be a part of the wonderful faculty and staff. I graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, with my bachelor’s degree in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.
I attended St. Paul from kindergarten through sixth grade. Looking back on my experience I feel so blessed to have been a part of the St. Paul, now St. John Paul II family. I am excited to continue to be a part of our wonderful middle school program. Students have many exciting events ahead of them, such as The Living Rosary, School Colors, Passion Play, CYO Camp, retreats, and middleschool class trips. I am eager to be part of these experiences and watch my students grow over the course of their middle school career at St. John Paul II.
My goal as an educator is to create a learning environment that promotes
student success in a fun and caring way. I believe that children learn in a
variety of ways. By providing different teaching strategies and hands-on
learning experiences I hope to reach and engage each student in my classroom.
Catholic education is very important to me and I will strive to incorporate our
religious values into everything going on in and out of the classroom in order to
create a Christ-centered environment for my students.
My husband Zac and I will be married thirteen years this September. We are
blessed with three wonderful children, Zander, Lilly, and Ethan. Zander is in
fourth grade, Lilly is in second, and our youngest, Ethan, will be in Pre-K this
year. I am blessed to have my children here at school with me. I have been a
lifelong member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church. In my free time I enjoy
reading, shopping, playing/watching different sports, and spending time with
my family and friends.
I am so thankful to again be a part of the St. John Paul II family and look
forward to a great year in middle school!
