My name is Carrie Gabbard. I am very excited to be starting my 13 th year of
teaching as well as joining the St John Paul II Family this 2022-2023 school year!
My teaching journey started several years ago when I graduated from Niagara
University (NY) with my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 2002 and Master’s
in Literacy Instruction in 2004. Since then, I have taught first grade, second grade
and fourth grade.
I was born and raised Western New York where I taught for several years in first
grade at St Peter Roman Catholic School. In 2009, I married my husband, Danny.
We lived in Louisville, Kentucky where I taught second grade at Holy Family
School (KY) until we had our first child, Danny “Trey” III in 2013. For several years I
was a stay-at-home mom. In 2015 my little family made the move to Sellersburg,
IN and shortly after had our second child, Eva. In 2019 I returned to the classroom
at RCCA teaching fourth grade. Now in 2022, I am SO excited to join the St John
Paul II family as 6 th /7 th ELA/Art/Spanish Support. My children Danny “Trey” and
Eva will also be joining the St John Paul II family as they will be attending third and
second grade. It is such a blessing to be able to work at the same place my
children attend school. I thank God for the many blessings!
My family and I live in Sellersburg, Indiana. In my spare time I enjoy reading,
crafting, spending time outdoors with family, and cheering on our Atlanta Braves
(2021 World Series Champs…YAY!) and Florida State Seminoles.
