My name is Ben Chisman. I am very excited to be teaching Middle School Mathematics at St. John Paul II. I have twelve years of teaching experience--the first four were as a high school math and physics teacher and for the last 8 years I taught math here at St. John Paul II. This is also my third year serving as the Dean of Students for Middle School. I look forward to helping to enhance the student experience at JPII through consistency and communication. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi and earned my Masters of Education degree from the University of Louisville.
I have been married to Laura for 21 years and we have two children. Tara (JPII alum) is entering her sophomore year at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and is majoring in nursing. Wyatt (JPII alum) will be starting 11th grade at Charlestown High School. We are members of St. John Paul II parish. When I'm not teaching, I love to run, bike and swim.
As we continue to build and grow our middle school, we take on the responsibility of preparing your children to be ready for the rigors of high school. I look forward to helping the students grow in both academics and character so that they will become confident and successful young adults and beyond.
