Hello, my name is Katie Naville.  This is my sixth year to teach at St John Paull II Catholic School.  I graduated from Indiana University Southeast in May 2009 with my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

I am so blessed to have the opportunity to teach second grade at St. John Paul II.   Second grade is a year for powerful spiritual growth for our students as they prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.  Our academic curriculum is also a key to the children’s success.  In second grade we will work hard in preparing the students for ISTEP which is taken in the spring of grade three.  The students focus on their reading fluency and comprehension and math skills.  I am very excited to teach the students cursive handwriting during the second semester.  I look forward to the learning that takes place each day in our classroom.

I was fortunate enough to attend school here in kindergarten through grade six.  Therefore, I know firsthand just how special of a place it truly is.  My goal as an educator is to create an environment where my students feel safe and are eager to learn.  I chose this profession because I believe in the value of education in order to develop contributing members of society for our future generations.  I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to combine my strong Christian values into the students’ curriculum.

My husband, Noah, and I have two beautiful daughters Sophia and Nora.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking, and reading.
