Mrs. Amanda Smith

My name is Amanda Smith. I began teaching in 2008, at St. Paul’s and I feel so blessed to be part of such an amazing school family. I have taught gymnastics/cheerleading at a local gym for eight years. It was at the gym that I first experienced the personal gratification of teaching children. I graduated from IUS with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary education and I recently finished my Master’s Degree in Elementary education.

My goal is to create a learning environment that encourages my students' learning, faith, and the fostering of relationships. I believe that everyone learns differently, so I strive to reach each of the different intelligences that make up my classroom. My hope is for them to develop the same love for learning and most of all love for Jesus Christ!

This will be my sixth year teaching at St. Paul’s and being able to teach first grade reading is a dream come true. Reading truly is a passion of mine and I can’t wait to share my love for reading with my students.

It is very rewarding to see how much reading improvement a child can make in just one year.  I thank God each day for giving me the opportunity to teach in such an amazing Christian environment!
